Breeding System help

Hi, can some one tell me exactly how the animal breeding works.
From what i've seen, Jungle bird pets seem to lay eggs often while pets like alligators seem to never lay eggs.
Egg's only ever seem to be laid the instant the animal grows up a level.

Does the rate of reproduction vary? between animal types?
Is the rate of reproduction decided on the animals spawn? for example pig 1 is already chosen to have 2 babies while pig 2 will have none.
How many times can a single animal have babies?
is there a way to increase how often or how many babies are made?
Any other info that i haven't mention that could be useful please do tell as well

I believe in 5.2, the breeding system was changed. If the amount of days passed + amount of players went past 12, the breeding would be majorly increased. Otherwise, it was decreased respectively by each player.

It's not bad though. It kinda populates the jungle now, making more units than usual, but the jungle never dies out and there are enough furs and skins now.

So more people = less animal babies? odd. More details on how it works please anyone

No no, other way around. More people = more breeding.

But the amount of days passed is a factor too.
